SAXON (with FOZZY and HALCYON WAY) North American tour!!

I remember on the last tour Symphony X had fans on their Facebook page vote on what the band should play from each album on their tour (implying that they would play at least one song from each album). So what did they do? They ended up playing the entire Iconoclast album instead. So WTF was all that voting about?

LOL - Megadeth did the same thing when they toured after 9/11 with Iced Earth supporting. I think the deepest cut they did was Hook in Mouth or something. The rest was all the standards.

As I said, I really doubt bands with that hectic of a touring and recording schedule really has the time to learn 10 deep cuts (for example) that they hadnt played in years with just a couple months notice.

The Saxon & Fozzy sites both show that Fozzy is still on the tour.
Looks like Fozzy is playing Joliet on Oct 16 after the tour with Saxon ends, which could explain why they are not playing the same city on Sept 21.

Interesting. No complaints here though as I wasn't exactly thrilled for them to be on the tour.

Saxon were

This Town Rocks, Guardians of the Tomb, Princess, RNR Gypsy, P&G, drum setup delay, loads of drunks, purple haired woman selling merch, Toronto baiting, 90 min show, wanted 3 more songs.

Not in Montreal yesterday. And surprisingly, no Crusader either. But still a killer show. Saxon has more energy than lots of bands who age average is 20-25 years younger...

:kickass:

Damn...that's the one tune I want to hear more than any other. Surprised they didn't play "Crusader." I guess that's the problem with a band who's been around as long as they have, it's impossible to have the perfect set list.

There seems to be an Audience Request slot in which one song will be played based on audience participation or maybe that Facebook contest.

Montreal also got an extra song (Strong Arm) for the encore.

Ah. My Saxon weekend is over. Just finished the Heavy Metal Thunder blu ray I picked up for $20 at the HMV on ST. Catherines. Really hope Saxon comes back on a better package next time. Even a 50 minute set opening for Maiden or Priest.

I will be at the Flint show in 2 days, can't wait as I've been a fan since the beginning and have never gotten the chance to see them, so, SAXON!!!!! \m/ \m/
