SAXON

That rules! I'll be there in spirit. Sadly, there was a date with the initial American tour plan in my area (literally a few miles from my house) but no rescheduled date. Rats. Nothing in CA at all. I'm miffed cause I've never seen Saxon either and they are one of my faves (and chances are running out, I'd say - they rarely come to America anymore).

Have fun, and for cripes sake post a setlist.

Saw them once in mid-80s in Salt Lake City, with Yngwie and Black-n-Blue if I recall correctly. Saxon headlined and were excellent. Of course, that was 20 years ago so I can't comment on what you'll see on Saturday.

With tunes like theirs though, it should be quality all the way. ENJOY!

Judging by the posts I see on their board (right here at UM) you should see a killer show! I was looking into the setlists when they were originally supposed to come here (which may have been as long ago as last November I think) and the list is BIG. I mean, tons of tunes, all good stuff. A good broad mix from across their career. They play, generally speaking, for over two hours.

Denim & Leather is a good album. Haven't heard the others but they're sitting in the record shop waiting for me to buy them.

I'm Pissed! They are playing here at the House of Blues on Monday the 7th. What the f**k is that? On a Monday night? And showtime is 11:15! Don't they know I have work in the morning? Soulfly is playing there the same night and they start at 5:15. Who the hell is scheduling these things?!?

Totally green with envy here. I need to see Saxon live before I kick the bucket :(

Enjoy it to the top.

pick up the saxon chronicles dvd

has their 2001 Wacken open air show on it

It was. I caught it in Phoenix. But in Phoenix Malmsteen was the headliner. Unless it was a different tour. Black n Blue was every tour's third band it seemed. A few years later it was Faster Pussycat as every tour's third band. I saw Saxon so many times 20 years ago. They were touring a lot trying to build a following.

Yeah, that's the same tour Wheez. Yngwie headlined, Saxon was second, Black N Blue played a short set to start things off.
