Scar Symmetry's 2 new vocalists performing...

Not had a chance to check out these videos, but I can honestly say this band has never done anything for me, same as Shadows Fall, Lamb Of God and Devildriver. A lot of people seem to really like these bands, but I just never really understood the attraction.
 
Dude, Shadows Fall and LoG bore me like crazy, but I really dig Devildriver, and fucking LOVE Scar Symmetry - it took me awhile to get over what I thought was horrible Soilwork-clonage, but they really do their own thing; honestly, musically my favorite album of theirs is their debut, "Symmetric in Design" - just listen to these two songs (my favorites on the album), especially the chorus in the second (you may recognize the title ;)), and if you don't like 'em, then I think it's safe to say you won't like the band!

And I watched the first 1.5 minutes of Morphogenesis, and I dunno, it doesn't help that they're under such clinical looking light, but still, move around guys for fuck's sake! (though it was a small stage, and Jonas I guess had to man the wah pedal or backup vox mic for a lot of it)
 
And this song has one of the greatest guitar solos of all time IMO - Per Nilsson is my god!

For me also one of the main reasons I like Scar symmetry is the guitarist.
Their songs are good and the clean vocals are awesome. The growling vocals not so much. They ruin a lot of the awesomeness for me. If it wasn't for the amazing solos I think I wouldn't listen to them that much.
 
Ok, had a quick listen to those songs, and maybe I gave up on them too easily, I shall listen more and see how I get on. Marcus, PM me some Devildriver songs to check out as well (I don't want to take this thread OT).
 
I too had a hard time getting over the initial shock of the Soilwork-clonage factor when I first heard them; however, once I bought their album and gave them a chance, I fell in love with their diverse style. They took what Soilwork did to the next level -- and continued to do so each album after the other. At one point, I thought that Scar Symmetry had surpassed what Soilwork was now doing. However, with Christian gone from SS now, and Peter returning to Soilwork... I'm finally once again excited about Soilwork, and not about SS. LOL.
 
I LOVE Scar Symmetry, but these new singers have just redefined the term "Suckage"
Their pictures are bound to appear under the term in next edition of Mirriam Webster dictionary.
Look them up when it gets out of press. :D

ok but the suckage you're talking about on the videos is not entirely the vocalists' responsability.
 
I don't get the hate against the growling vocalist, I thought he was pretty good and definitly on par with Älvstam. And the clean vocalist was atleast on key most of the time, it's just his voice that isn't very good.

However, this is a terrible "performance" by all involved. What the hell, at least bang your fucking heads.
