Scarlett Johansson is tooooo gorgeous!

no no. like REAL zombies. just ask cthulu. he knows all about this. i cant talk about it anymore without getting choked up.

Well, I can rest comfortably knowing that film scholars and high brow critics alike hail The Exorcist as one of the greatest movies of all time (horror or not). And the fact is, IT IS! :tickled:

(And by the way, if you go see it for all the 'shock factors' etc with popcorn in hand then you're missing the bigger picture. There is so much going on.....man, they have written dissertations on how that film couldn't be more [claustrophobic/paranoid schizophrenic]. It's like the celluloid itself is just etched in eerie goings on).

Should have won the oscar by a mile.

possession is NOT SCARY because it aint real.
neither is michael myers, but he COULD BE

MYSTERY POST?!

i didn't find it scary. i mean shock factor blah blah aside, it's just not scary on ANY level. which is a real disappointment because everyone (like you) hypes it three fucking tons at any given opportunity.

I remember the second Conan being my favorite movie when I was around 5-6 years old. My dad even made some wooden swords so my bro and I could practice our fighting skills  We got hurt pretty badly with those swords

Halloween is another milestone in movie making. Came out way before all the other slasher rip offs, and as with anything, the originals are the best.

Plus, you know, John Carpenter was one of the greatest directors ever.

Speaking of movies, anyone has seen the Hostel yet? I saw it last week. It's far from being scary, but it can get pretty disgusting at times, but IMO it could have been a lot creepier. Tarentino went soft on that one IMO. Still, I'm not dissapointed cause you get pretty much stressed up for the victim as he tries to escape.

conan the destroyer makes me weep. it basically fucking sucks

"Scary" movies fail to scare me. Always have. I've yet to see one that mentally fucked with my head and made me afraid. Otherwise all they do is give me indigestion.

scary is when you look up from the river while fishing and see a mother bear and her cub about 10 feet away from you.
that reminds me of my philosophy class. My teacher asked us to write 10 pages on the definition of courage, and some guy made the following work:

My definition of courage goes like this:

10 blank pages

this is what courage is all about.

94%....

yeah, halloween was scary but my point was that he coulda been real (except for the immortal part) and the exorcist could not. honestly, the exorcist is funnier than it is scary. but like i said, maybe in the 70s when it came out - it was different.

Ali, it's a lost cause. Save your thread postings for things like "meh" and "poop."
