Hey guys,

Whats your opinions on this guitar? I played it once quickly, liked it a lot, and a buddy is selling one for a nice price. I played it but not enough to really evaluate it well.

Thanks
Ivan

If the price is right, then go for it.

The higher end Schecters I've either played or owned, have all struck me as very nice guitars for the money.

I just got a C1-EX Blackjack Baritone (discontinued in '08) from a guy who has some NOS ones, after discovering that baritones are the shit (as detailed in this thread, and FYI to all, that guitar will soon be for sale btw) and I absolutely love it - nothing particularly special, it just feels extremely well-made, the neck isn't as thick as all the Hellraisers I've played (is that standard for Blackjacks?), the cream binding is intensely classy, it has a blade-toggle (which I much prefer to the Gibson-style), and it actually resonates beautifully, I was really impressed (I even like the JB in it, super chunky) - highly recommended!

The other guitarist in my band has C-1 Blackjack and it's a nice guitar for sure. Might be even better than the C-1 Classic I used to own some time ago (and which WAS a good guitar indeed), but it's hard to compare this way. Definitely a nice guitar to play!

Marcus, it is EXACTLY this model (of course not Baritone), with the dot inlay on the fretboard. Btw, the fretboard on this one is rosewood or ebony?

My C1 Blackjack is incredible. Everyone who plays it loves it and assumes it was much more expensive than it was. I think it went up in price drastically since I bought it (probably 2004).

Hey Ivan,

I've owned a C1 Elite for a few years. It's very similar to Blackjack but it had abalone binding and Duncan Designed pups. It was the best playing axe I've ever owned and I still regret that I had to sell it. I'm going to buy a 6 string in a few months and I'll go for C1 Blackjack this time. (I own a C7 Blackjack ATX with Blackouts atm). They are very good for the price and well built.

Since it's your buddy selling it, isn't it possible to borrow it for a few days to try out?
