Target figured out how to be a discount store without the discount feel.

Seriously they, and companies like them, scare me. They are so huge and have such vast capital they could sooner or later theoreticly go global and push most other stores out of buisness, acquiring a nice strangle hold on what people should and should not purchase, according to their endless hunger for profit. I'm pretty clueless when to comes to selling schemes/capitalist tactics (or whatever), but I guess it's a pretty nasty snowball effect: they buy silly ammounts of wares with each purchase and get it very cheap, sell it cheaper than most others, makes huge profits due to the sheer ammount of products and starts over
It's also quite unnerving when one consideres the influence such a company has on politics through lobbying and that their goals are pretty damn disgusting... sometimes I just whish for an absolute dictator

Target just seems to keep its shit wired tight - everything is clean and well presented. WalMart is like going through one big fuck off bargain bin, shit scattered everywhere.
Target also use "white lights". Believe it or not, this makes the store appear brighter and the colours more vibrant, whereas WalMart uses the old "yellow lights" so everything looks dull, and all the staff look like they have jaundice. It's like you've walked into a surplus factory outlet full of coal miners.
