Hi!

Does anyone know which of the 609's (black or silver) that is the most similar to the older golden version (409 I think)?

I'm just curious really since I saw "A year and a half" w/Metallica today and saw that Bob Rock used the golden ones on Lars toms.

No.. it's the 409 on Lars' toms.

Haven't had the experience with that series, but since the "black" retail for twice the price of the "silver" there should be a pretty big difference somehwere. My guess would be that the black is the way to go... but it's more about placing and what kind of mic you use (dyn/cond...) than the exact model anyway.

yep its the old sennheisers on there, I have 609's, all black ones, pretty good.
Anyone figure out what that silver snare mic he always uses is????
