Hi guys! i recorded a band called Ulph Johansson band today.
12 hours, recorded, mixed and mastered. live recording.
guitar and bass was re-amped later.
there is a few fixes with the mastering. i´ll do them tomorrow. :)

mices on drums:

Sennheiser E902 kick
Shure SM57 SD top
Sennheiser E904 SD under
MD421 on rack toms
Senheiser E904 on Floor
Behringer condens on HH, not the Joemeek on some pics (the black mic)
Røde NT-1A on ride and right crash
SE Electronics on left crash
Røde NT-3 Ambience mics

bass is lined and miced with 1 MD421

Guitar is miced with MD421 and SM57

for bass: Ampeg SVT Classic w/4x10 cab
for Guitars: Fender Deluxe w/H&K Tubefactor
song 3 is all Ampfarm on guitar.

Did you use a lot of reverbs on the drums? That snare reverb sounds really good... nice natural sound. Can you tell us what you used and how?

Hi! well... no. i used D-verb plate setting. just too get some edge on the snare. the rest is from the ambience mics

thanks for the info. i've really been struggling with the d-verb ... can't really get it to sound good. Basically my problem is that it sounds good on it's own, but somehow it just drowns in the mix too much and ends up sounding like mud. I used to get a lot more clear reverb sounds with logics and waves reverbs (plates)... so can you give me any good tips on how to set it up?

BTW. How did you set up the ambience mics? a/b or x/y or some other way?
