setting up an rr3

hiya folks i am now the proud owner of a jackon rr3, the low E string is buzzy though :(

my friend said the tuss rod needs adjusting, i dont like going anywhere near tuss rods, is my friend right or is the guitar fucked?
 
unless your friend measured, he has no clue what he is talking about. the best way to start is with a bridge adjustment, start by adjusting the tremelo stud closest to the E spring, its the allen screw that goes directly into the body... that will raise up the strings from the neck a little bit... do it a turn at a time until it stops buzzing all the way through the fret range...
 
Yeah, fret buzzing is a little complicated...
The obvious thing is to check the truss rod and neck relief, but it can do more harm than good if it's already set properly.
