Sever The Voices - Old Wounds (reamp/m/ma)

This sounds sick, dude! Good job! The only thing I'd change would be to bring up the bass grit/distortion a bit. That's just preference, though.

What did you use for drums? Everything besides the cymbals actually had me thinking this wasn't entirely programmed.

Sounds pretty solid to me too, your drum programming sounds really good also, it actually feels like there is a real drummer playing. The mix has maybe a little too pronounced low-mids for my taste, but that's more like taste thing though, good job!

Thanks dudes! I've always been super meticulous with my drum programming; I humanize all the velocities and then generally apply some kind of randomization of timing via the logical editor. I usually set it to the shell/cymbal notes late by 0-12 (I have no idea what this value actually translates to; ms? something small) and then use the strength-based quantized to re-grid the entire kit back by 60% or so. The end effect of this that very few of your hits fall exactly on the grid, and none of them fall exactly on eachother.

@JeffTD:

I wasn’t aware of this Logical Editor function in Cubase: really useful, thanks for sharing!

What did you use for cymbals? Possibly Made Of Metal?
