Shit record, but killer song!

The title track is an awesome song, but the rest of the album doesn't match it IMO...

Wow, really ? To each his own I suppose. I think "Bleed" is practically a masterpiece.

Count me in as loving 'Turbo Lover' I've always found that album to be pretty kick ass. I do agree that "Out in the Cold" is a fav track though! Excellent tune.

hahah aanother area we may have a disagrement on... I dont think the 2 albums "Jug and Demo" were all that great Not Bad in spots but not great .... but live FUCK DUDE Ripper added something to those old songs that I personally think they really needed, I saw themn twice with Ripper and they were absolutely Awsome!!!!! Though yes I have seen them with Halford too ... and ya know what ... I missed Rippers Vocals when I saw em with Halford ... I expected to Hear RiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiP and didnt get it not to say they didnt Kick Ass they Did ... I'm not a huge Priest fan in General but there really isnt to many bands out there that put on a Better live show!

The funny thing I didn't like Jugulator and I didn't even bother listening to Demolition.
But that live cd is cool. I play those songs on the Alley Cat Lounge's jukebox all the
time. Plus I got that disc at home! So it's kind of a disagreement

I have a Soft spot for '98 live Meltdown Damn Fine Live Album! ... its what actually Finally got me Jonny D into Judas Priest ... I hated them ...with Exception to Painkiller I really didnt like em ... it was the Vocals I didnt like ... they Changed the recipie and it fit my Tastes better ... Kinda like Maiden with Blaze ... Everybody else Hated it but thats what it took to get me "Into" Maiden ... I'm still not much of a fan of most of the Bruce stuff ... but X-Factor will be my Funeral Dirge

Dunno if I should say this, but I'm a "song" person, hell I bought a shitload of stuff just because I liked ONE song on the whole album. I think that lately you can considder yourself luckey if you find an album with more than one excellent song on it. Let me see.. for instance, I hang onto Load for Hero of the Day, I baught White Stripes for Seven Nation Army(liked it at the time), Pop will eat Itself for Auslander etc. etc. I used to buy a lot of alternative and grunge stuff before it became over commercialised, just for one or two good songs on an album.
I happen to think that Turbo is a kickass record(still woun't make love to it though )

I like Moments on Each Album ... I dont hate them nowadays back in '98 i unglued my ears to them ... but I'm still no big fan .. they just never really grabbed me ... but Like I said LIVE they are the Best! .... Symphony of Enchanted Lands II right? ... I have that ... hahah I'm stll trying to dig into it ... I liketheyre album "Dawn of Victory" ... but the whole Story telling for the first 5 mins of the album really pisses me off hahaha

That's not completely true. Jugulator had it's moments, but Demolition was a complete brick!

Demolition is absolutely shitty though, there's not really a good song on there. There's good ideas, but the shitty production and overabundance of modernisms and BAD ideas makes it a LOSAR.

I'm a "song" and an "album" guy. :Spin: Best of both worlds! I have purchased albums for only one song and turned out liking the whole thing! (Hell I used to buy albums just cause the cover looked cool!)

For me it depends on the mood I'm in.. for instance.. I can't listen to just one Pink Floyd song its the whole album or nothing and I have to know I've got time to listen to it all the way through. But there is a lot of songs I like that are great but the rest of the album doesn't fit! So I burn them(no fire involved!) and sell the CD!

I consider "Jugulator" nice. It was a cool change for the band at the time but not the right direction. Most of the album (except maybe the baaaaaaad 'Decapitate' and the uddely boring 'Brain Dead') deals pretty good with kudos to 'Cathedral Spires', but 'Dead Meat', 'Burn In Hell', 'Bullet Train' are instant faves.

As for "Demolition" let's say that I basically rescue 'Close To You', 'Hell Is Home', 'Machine Man' and the chorus of 'Metal Messiah' (just the chorus the song is SHIT ). The rest are the most bad fillers I've seen in an album ever.

Whoever said "Cryin", that's a killer song! I love alot of that first Vixen album though. Edge Of A Broken Heart is an absolute killer, I Want You To Rock Me, Cryin, Desperate, Love Made Me, One Night Alone... but the other 5 are a bit rank. I reckon the second album Rev It Up is better overall... there is nothing as strong as "Edge Of A Broken Heart" in my opinion but every song up until the last track (Wrecking Ball which sucks) is great I think.

Ace Frehley's solo record was the best of the lot, but it really only had one track that I would say is a keeper!
That song is New York Groove...

Hmmm the KISS solo albums, another interesting topic. I'm all over any KISS topic in a thread.

I'm not a fan of them. Gene's is absolute shit and almost as bad as his last effort "Asshole", Peter's is completely putrid and the worst album ever to come out with the KISS name on it.... but I think Ace's is pretty good, not all the consistent but some good tracks such as Snowblind, Ozone, Rip It Up etc with a kind of Blue Oyster Cult meets The Sweet with shades of Sabbath riffing here and there...

But Paul Stanley's solo album I reckon is one of the best KISS albums of the 70s. Strong almost start to finish with the exception of a couple of tracks (Hold Me Touch Me is fuckin gay!) and its just great, the hooks are on the money and he was the only real SINGER of the band and by far the best writer so his album worked the best easily.

Can't wait for his new solo album! For those who haven't read melodicrock.com lately, it's co-written with Desmond Child and the drummer reckons its great melodic hard rock and mega-consistent so I have good hopes for it! I think it won't quite match everyone's expectations because alot of people are hoping for an album full of Turn On The Night and Hide Your Heart kinda songs, but it will be a strong catchy, poppy, melodic hard rock record anyway, and apparently Paul's voice sound amazing (which I'd believe coz the 3 KISS shows I caught last year he sounded UNREAL!).
