short guitar tone test

that is well defined but not undergained!

how did it turn out?

'Whoofy' is another word to use, like the mic is a half-inch too far from the speaker. Try cutting a little low-end out and see where that gets you.

not sure how the IR was made, tried to get some info on it but
google is down atm and i remember that i tried it before and could not get any info.
got it from the FAS forum some time ago and used it on every recording since then

Diezel 4x12 V30 SM57 (Soldano HR PowerAmp)

could be that the IR was made with a mic standing away from the grill,
i usually think that my tones are too direct so this one sems to be perfect.

i'll cut the low end a little bit, it was just a quick test, old strings and i
used the same distorted patch for the bass as i used for the guitars!

i think i can make it a little bit more polished with better drums,
new strings and a cleaner bass tone

Sounds good, maybe a LITTLE more gain on the booster will help, but yea those 2 impulses are great

the guitars are too "far away" for me in the mix and they lack some power for me, mostly because the bass guitar is missing

i had more gain on this but turned it down a little bit before recording, not a fan of too much gain.

usually my recordings sound way too direct and it very hard to get them sit in the mix,
not sure how i manged to get these sound more away, used the same IR als always and there is no reverb on the tracks...

bass is there but i have i very low in the mix
