Should I purchase a 15gig iPod?

My roomate has an old nomad and it works perfectly well and has been through quite a lot dropping and other "accidents".

You could always buy an usb hub that costs about 15$ for your USB problem, your PC is most probably USB 1, although the gain in performance with Firewire might be dependant on the bus you put it on in your computer. If your computer is only compatible with old PCI 33 Mhz it might not be faster than your USB 1.

iPods are damn cool though.

i actually don't care too much about the time it takes, so maybe that's not a major issue; i can slowly upload all my mp3s overnight, if need be.

nomad is just terrific.

ipod's pros comparing to nomad are slimmer design, 'sexy' touchpad and IMO better earbuds.

if the storage amount is important thing to you, go creative nomad, if you want to get laid more often - I guess you should buy a corvette

free iTunes is available whether you buy an ipod or not.

usb2 pci card can be found for $10-$15, so... it shouldn't be a problem.
