Funny you should mention that... Yeah, we all were really looking forward to that show, too, but get a load of this stupid bullshit: Through no fault of the organizers or USO, we were dropped from the show because the Torrance Sheriff's Dept. determined we are a dangerous band... (laughable, ain't it?).
:hotjump: Here's the press release that the organziers put out:
L.A. County Breaking News

The word on the street is getting around of the show at Alpine Village, the fund-raiser for the Bob Hope USO benefiting the Southern California USO on July 5 & 6 in Torrance. The only thing is, people are talking about the bands that got bumped off by the Sheriffs dept. Alpine Village is on parole for an incident they had at their location in December. Unfortunately because of it, these two bands that have performed for the troops many times will now be left on the sidelines.
L.A.s very own Thrashyr and the all girls band, the Iron Maidens will not be performing on Friday and Saturday. These are two of the headliners for each night. They both draw great crowds and after researching back for the past two years, this reporter found no incidents at neither bands turnouts. The people I did speak to, say they are both the best draws in Southern California right now. The Iron Maidens bring tons of people to my club and I have never had an incident with them, said Mark Toner of Paladinos.
The same went with the House of Blues when I spoke to one of their spokesperson. Thrashyr is a staple in Hollywood and have one of the best fan bases in town. As a rock group, thats entertainment. They somewhat remind me of a current Iron Maiden type of band, they are best unsigned band playing on the strip right now, added a spokesperson who did not want to go on record, as the Sheriffs patrol West Hollywood as well.
Thrashyr recently performed for 2000 troops in Torrance at their pre BBQ parade last month and seemed to be liked by everyone said Harley Helmstrum, the singer and guitarist of Thrashyr. We have done quite a few events for the troops and we will continue to perform for the heroes of our great Country as long as we have the opportunity, added Harley.
Iron Maidens management said they and others are now in talks with the city of Los Angeles to have an event for the troops in the Corn Fields. We have a clean record, great fans, the hottest girls on stage and very talented as well. We will coordinate with Thrashyrs management and couple of other surprise guests so the world can see that we are all a bunch of furry critters just enjoying great music as we continue to support our troops.
Management at Alpine Village did say they were under probation for an incident that happened last year and did not think these bands would have an issue performing when they were asked to perform for the fund raiser. These are great bands and its unfortunate that it had to come down to this, the bands have been promoting the event and its a terrible situation.
The show will go on with London, Apocalipstick, Christopher Walk-ins, Henry Turner Jr., Shenkar, Juliett, Kid Knuckles, Frazer Smith, Martin Rizo, Budda, the Clipper Girls and many others. No matter what, continue to support the troops and attend the 4th of July extravaganza.
