This third-grade whiz kid named Brianna contacted me about this project she was doing for her special kids class on hearing loss. She's quite the kid, she loves metal and music in general and writes like a college, writing student, even though she's only nine. I told her about Shroud and she interviewed Dan. Here's a link to the interview she posted for her project http://www.tqnyc.org/NYC074441/

Yeah, I set her up with an interview with With Passion, a so-so band on Earache. My contact at Earache thought the whole thing was bizarre, she thought I was being scammed. I had to explain to her how I've seen pictures of here and talked to her mom. She is a little girl, just an extremely intelligent one who happens to like real metal.

dan, you should look into one of two options....some custom-made earplugs (go to an audiologist to get these), or get some Hearos HiFi earplugs (that's what i use....they're made by Etymotic Research, one of the main companies that make the custom plugs, and they're basically the next best thing. they use the exact same filters as the custom plugs, they're just not custom fit to your ears). the filters they use cut all frequencies much more evenly than the cheap foam plugs, and they bring the lows down as well. the lows that you still hear with foam plugs can still do a lot of damage, and the good earplugs help prevent that. you can get the Hearos HiFi plugs for about $15 per pair at guitar center, and i highly recommend them. sound much better than foam plugs, you can still hear everything really well.
