Shure Beta 98D

Hey there,

I was wondering : has anyone here already used the miniature Shure Beta 98D to record toms ? How good are they ? Compared to, let's say, the SM57 ? =) Or is it better to put a 57 with a A56D (universal drum mounting system) ?

the 98's are ok, a little clicky and thin, especially on bigger toms.

I've just checked out the prices, and the 98's are three times more expensive than the 57's... Even if we include the price of the drum mounting system, they become twice more expensive, so I guess I'd rather go for some 57's that can be used for a lot more instruments...
