What do you guys think of using this as a bottom mic on a snare or on an acoustic guitar? Is there something better in the same price range?

the SM-81 would work well for both...they make fucking great mics for acoustic guitars
and i don't know if there's anything "better" in that price range - there's other mics that some people may prefer, but you can't really go wrong with the 81
