My Shure 545 used to sound like ass, then I broke it, so I bought a new capsule and now it sounds the way it's supposed to sound.

Since there are very few good quality clips on the web, I thought some of you might be interested in hearing it.

Quick comparison with a 57.

No worries. The 545 really brings out the 170-200Hz body and top end air in the snare and generally sounds less congested, I feel like it's exactly other manufacturers are going for when they do their "improved" 57 models but kinda miss the mark. I'm going to use it on snare for my next drum session and see what happens.

I have one I picked up ages ago.

Almost always use it on snare bottom, Haven't used it on guitars in ages.

Did anyone tested 545 on guitar cabs? From what nolly describe it must sound awesome!

This was what the original clip was. Couldn't find it on my HD, sorry. The SM57 was still better on a cabinet in my opinion but they share the same overall character.
