There's still great music being made today, but don't forget that you don't have the hindsight with new music that you have with old stuff - a bunch of old farts already filtered out most of the garbage from decades past, so a lot of gems seem like they must have been far more common. We will do the same for today's music and pass it on to those who come after us - circle of life, that whole sort of thing.
