Keeping busy as always with NECROPHAGIA, keyboardist Mirai Kawashima dropped me a line concerning his other main band, Japanese phenomenon SIGH, who are preparing
their long-awaited follow-up to 2001's Imaginary Sonicscape which will be released sometime early next year through Century Media.

"Yes, the songs for the new album, entitled Gavotte Grim, are almost done," says Mirai. "It's been three years since the last album, and we started working on the stuff for the new album at quite an early stage, but we ended up throwing away most of the material as it didn't meet our demands well. But now finally we will go into the studio from early August for the recording. We expect that it'll take several months to finish it up, so the release date will be some time early next year. It will be something quite different from any of our previous releases. It will be heavier and a bit more straight-forward than ever, and it will have an Asian edge."
