I'm after a simple hardware sample player that can play stereo .wav or .mp3 samples over some our songs while playing live. Sample length must not be an issue - some songs will use a sample effectively as a backing track.
I want to trigger them with an external MIDI foot controller (I have the FCB1010) and I want something responsive that can output direct into the mixing desk.
I probably need about 3 or 4 samples max per song we do, some sort of bank/program system would be useful.
While I could do this using something like my iPhone and a MIDI adapter, I'm not keen on leaving my phone hanging around near mixing desks while playing live etc, and I don't want to have a laptop involved - I want something a bit more rugged and less expensive if possible.
Anybody have any suggestions??
