Anyone who'd like to go see them at Wild Bill's up in Gwinnett, let me know. I have at least 2 extra free tickets, and could probably get another dozen. One of their beer girls works with me and has stacks of them.

Surprise guest appearance by Sebastian Bach? I still listen to Slave to the Grind regularly.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. I loved Skid Row V1.0
Don't care for the newer era stuff. It's like Van Halen without DLR, but even more so....

The self titled and STTG are two of the best hard rock releases ever in my opinion! Skid Row after Sebastian Bach isn't Skid Row at all. I'll go as far as to say that at one time, during his prime, Sebastian Bach was hard rock's new answer to Diamond Dave. If the original lineup had been able to stick together, they would've gotten through the 90's along side Pantera. It's a shame how they allowed egoes get in the way of success. :erk:

That's an interesting comparison. When I think of Dave, I think of a front man that is 95% personality and 5% vocal talent. Although Bas has a lot of personality, he's also a gifted vocalist. I would have never thought to draw comparisons to Roth.

Yep... a true shame.

I like Johnny Solinger and I even like the Thick Is The Skin album, but the last album totally missed the mark for me. I think they would have been better off dropping the Skid Row name and just starting a new band with Solinger. That would have cut down (though not eliminated) the Bach comparisons and they could have gotten away with the different sound.

That said, I'd still go to the show this Friday if I didn't have a prior committement. Wild Bill's is an AWESOME venue. The Black Label Society/Sevendust show there last month was INCREDIBLE!

I agree on the talent part, my comparison was strictly based on original band lineups, and what I think of first when I hear someone say "Van Halen" or "Skid Row", and that's the bands in their prime. I fully accept that Skid Row still exists, just like VH with Hagar, but those aren't the versions I think of first when I hear them mentioned. There is no hate, just personal preference... :heh:

It was pretty good IMO. But I felt I had to post for another reason... anyone heard Rachel Bolan's side project, the Quazimotors? They were pretty damn good--not metal, more punk, but, well, the Su has fallen in love with them. :) Anyone who likes the Ramones I would say should check them out. Apparently, they don't have a disc out, and I'm not sure what those plans are, but they were quite enjoyable live. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the opening bands. All 3 were were pretty good.

Thank you.
I think Roth is one of the worst vocalists, period.

I saw DLR solo a couple years back at a local summerfest type of thing.
Dear lord did he sound awful. His stage presence was terrible too.

I am sure he polished up for the recent VH reunions.
