They didn't even know how to construct solos at all until South of Heaven. Before that it was just random out of key tuneless shredding (although they still do their fair share of that).

Kerry King's solos are shit. Hanneman is clearly a more talented riffmaker and better at solo's. Seasons in the Abyss has always been my favorite.

Yeah, that's an amazing song and listening to that album the other day it hit me just how good the solo is. Not like their usual "fast run up the fretboard in a dissonant manner" at all!

Exactly. The solos on RiB are the only ones that don't bother me. So probably one of those.

I don't know how any one can pick one. It's like asking which cripple would win in a 50 man retard royal rumble match. They are all so bad. I would say maybe War Enseble's solo. They had some solos on Seasons that became almost borderline melodic and tonally sound. To keep with analogy, the were more like a paraplegic when compared to there quadriplegic predessors.
