slayer guitar riffs

I can play a lot of stuff already, but I hardly get a lot of time to practice and so it takes longer for me to get the hang of it

They're not too hadr once you get used to them. Besides, half of Seasons in the Abyss (the album) is nice and slow - like SitA (the song) and Dead Skin Mask.

SLayer is probably as easy as it gets for guitar riifs. I use them as my "drunk test". If I can't play Slayer, then I'm pretty fucking wasted.

hehehe slayer riffs are a test of good economic pic control and phisical resistance. Or if you have some nylon picks you want to get rid off play slayer and by the end of the song you will be playing with your fingers the pick will be gone.

I think it got specially ridiculously tiredsome on Divine intervention's killing field, they dropped tremolo picking in favor of a rhythm patern with the pick, now that was just about the easiest song to play and the hardest to play it all at once without stopping.

If i must think of a hard to play riff from slayer the only riff i can think of is the intro riff from sex, murder act.

i would say that divine intervention and some songs off hell awaits are a little tough , but mostly slayer is easy and as everyone said its speed and stamina.

There is a riff in "Serenity In Murder" That always fucks me up....Some of their stuff(especially off Seasons)is extremely easy and some is just the opposite...The groove riffs are all pretty simple but when they decide to use 100 different notes in 30 seconds it takes a wicked turn...SLAYER KICKS ASS!

I don't mean to brag but...my 'air' riffs rock.

..well ok I do like to brag....but wouldn't you if you could 'air' guitar any Slayer song? Sometimes I do drums too hehe

Cannibal Corpse are no greater than slayer.

There is some okay stuff, but it's not "Ahhhh fuck!!" kindof difficulty to play.

Check out Nevermore - Politics of ecstasy, especially songs like '42147', 'the learning', 'seven tongues of god'... Pat Obrien from Cannibal Corpse was in the band then. It is insane shit to play.

I've got most of Atheist's "Unquestionable Presence" under my belt to. Hows that for bragging?

Really ????
So why don't you try to play the whole Reign In Blood album at once ?:muahaha:
Or Dead Skin Mask solos ?

If you are such a good guitarist you should play them with your eyes closed ... :Smokedev:

well i've been playing guityar for about 3 years now and slayer has easy riffs. well i can play emporer and stuff but yeah all they do is just speed. they would probably be hard to play if uve been playing for a month. probably good to start out with cuz u're gonna need speed to be a death metaler (however you spell it sepaking of which............................

well, i've been playin for just under two years and all of the songs i've tried to play were pretty damn easy....it's just the speed of the riffs which may be intimidating but you'll get it after a while....the solo's on the other hand are a different matter (for me anyways)

I'm sure that slayer did at the time

Fuck i hate slayer solos... neither guitarists are 'great'... they are both pretty fucking terrible actually, but they have a few good ideas here and there.
