So, this has just been announced. A co-headline tour with these bands. I think it's actually interesting. First off, I have come around to thinking Marilyn has lost the plot, but I still consider Antichrist Superstar one of the GREAT albums of the 90s (maybe he still needs Trent Reznor's input). In any case, I like that metal bands are getting adventurous like this...I mean this tour. It's an interesting mix that I might make a point of seeing.

Not sure how many Manson detractors there are here, but I'm assuming quite a few. Lots of "metal," folk don't like him. Speaking for myself, I buy all his stuff, but as I said before, he's never quite reached the greatness of Antichrist S. But hey, Slayer has never reached the greatness of Hell Awaits again (no, sorry, not a huge fan of Reign in Blood).

Interesting tour.

I never loved Slayer, I did have a liking for them, as they did contribute to the greatness of Thrash, but I have lost my respect for them. As for Manson....:yuk: hahahaha!! :)

Manson peaked with Antichrist Superstar, then lost his momentum and ability to write good music. I'm not a huge Slayer fan, since they haven't put out anything decent until this last album...
Good for them, they should do well togther, it's an odd pairing but you guys knew that. I'm more curious how the different audiences will gel?!

I´m not Manson detractor. Simply I consider his music has no interest since "Antichrist" and I didn´t like any time I saw him live. On the other side, Slayer are one the best (if not the best) band live. It would be fun seeing how a Slayer riff kill any Manson gig.

Slayer knows they are big with the DIsturbed, Mudvayne type crowds and all dumb ass kids that like Slayer think they are the heaviest most evil band ever. This is simply a ploy for Slayer to try to sell more albums to an even more radio friendly crowd. I never and I mean never gave Manson a chance because there were always better industrial bands and the whole time Manson was getting big over here in the states Iced Earth and Inflames were making albums like Burnt Offerings, Something Wicked, Colony and Clayman. Real Metal. Ministry and Kmfdm were making better industrial. Slayer has nothing left and neiher does Manson. Manson never did though. All the shit he has ever done was done years before by Iggy Pop, GG Allen, Mayhem, and ALice Cooper. Hes a fake and a entertainer not a muscian.

I always liked Manson's "Holy wood" and I don't know why ppl are giving him shit all the time, he can't help the fact that he's popular. He's more intelligent than you'd think.

I've never been so much of a Trash lover but Slayer is something diffrent. ElectricWiz is right, Reign in Blood pwnt big time but I do like their newest album too.

anyone know when and where they'll be passing in Europe?

I dont give two craps how smart he is, his music sucks. They can have their tour I know for damn sure I wouldnt waste my money on that. Not when Heaven and Hell, Megadeth, and Machine Head are playing now thats a show.

Yeah, I like Holy wood too, actually. I do say the quality has gone down, but each of his albums has something to it. The last one was the first one that really failed to thrill me altogether.

I like both bands... but i like slayer more of course... I love all their albums up to Seasons in the Abyss... and i will always listen to their old stuff and even though their recent albums weren't that great they never commercialized themselves for the all mighty dollar such as Metallica... Slayers music has always been hard, heavy and fast and their popularity though not as big as MM or Metallica has always been due to word of mouth and hard work then because of videos, radio etc.

But anyways as someone else pointed out it will be interesting to see how the fan's of both bands will mix in... my guess is there will be alot of fights...

I like both

I'll bet, last time I checked Slayer had a fanbase that ranged from the average joe to the crazy fuck that thinks its just all about the violence.

I think Slayer allways chooses bands that attrackt an un-Slayer public to try and pick up fans there...They have been doing this for years now and are loosing alot of credit from me for that reason. They don't need the money for sure and should play with decent Metal bands, not the commercial shit they tour with last years..

He just has his own style I guess, not really one genre and that's a good thing.

True that, I've seen em with Slipknot and Hatebreed (Unholy Allience pt.1). Hatebreed wasn't that good but Slipknot and Slayer pwnt big time, been more into Slayer since then. I saw alot of the older people leave when slayer finished and the young ones remained. I missed pt.2 though (last year I think) with CoB and In Flames. I think they should preform with other Trash bands as well since. I'd like to see em with Legion of the Damned once.
