Sleepers Awake is a terrific progressive metal band from Columbus, OH. Their music is heavy, moody, and features great musicianship. They have released two albums: Priests of the Fire in 2009 and Trancension in 2012. Eighty percent of their vocals are melodic and the remainder are rough. Here are a couple of tracks.

Lane was kind enough to send me this disc and I have to admit that I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. Occult prog metal?

Btw..the drumming on this disc is outstanding.
