Snobb Flynn

Being a man does not always equal being a gentleman. ;)

Depends how you define being a "man" - my definition is of an intelligent, rational, calculating, controlled mofo who never makes a move without being sure it's the best possible one for himself and (if he's famous) his image, and is 100% confident in himself to play off jokes directed at him and have some fun, cuz he knows he's hard as fuck.

Someone who acts pissy, dramatic, and impulsive is anything but IMO!

I like your definition and approve of your man-card. Manliness is completely subjective these days and dudes around the globe have to understand that. Now, what what does playing off jokes have to do with self-confidence in this case? He was not made fun of. In my eyes he was toyed with like a baby. He's the mighty Robb from the mighty Machine Head and the first thing got to you ask him is what hair product he uses. It's like, if you ask a toddler what guitar he plays, it will look confused at you and walk away to piss on your carpet - because your question is completely inappropriate. My logic is not brilliant, but that's how I feel about this.

Robb's confident enough to walk away with a grunt and a disapproving stare without wasting time he cannot get back playing nice (he doesn't have to, he's not on camera for anybody's entertainment) or bitching about it (because he's above that). It comes off as arrogant, but I can rarely rationalize and respect an "arrogant" move quite like Rob's. It makes sense to me.

I remember this pseudo-mexican stereotype twat (nothing against mexicans, please) handing Dave Mustaine a rose ("A rose for the dame!") and the guy just grabbed it from his hand and tossed it on the floor, then gave him a "1, 2, 3, I'll murder you" look. I can't find it on YouTube, but what would be appropriate in this occasion?

^ takes balls to pull that off, though. With Dave's karate background and legendary temper.

This pretty much sums up my point:

I can understand that you're not in the mood for shit like that sometimes, but all he had to say was "next question please" and he would have avoided making himself look like a douche.

Personally i don't judge him for this interview, but i think it was a pretty stupid way to react to the situation.
It was a joke and he didn't need to partake in the joking, but he didn't have to walk out like that either.

And I disagree on that point. You're a musician, you're profession is to make good music. You're profession isn't to deal with every shit that is tossed on you and make everybody happy. If somebody treats you in a shitty way, it's your right to do the same in return. And I think his reaction was totally appropriate. You're still a human being, even though you're famous and whatnot. Anyway, in fact I couldn't care less about that particular situation, it's so irrelevant in any way...

The rose one was obviously intended at making fun of Mustaine, it's completely different IMO.

anyone can have a bad day or moment, context really makes the difference

but like I said, I find it hard to believe the same guy that brings some random kid up onstage with them and gives him his guitar to play just cause the kid was holding a banner up is any kind of "snob"

the sound quality of this vid makes me feel like i am listening to some dutch extreme hardcore. all i hear is some distorted to hell bassdrum

i agree on what you sait about rob, never met him or anything
but he always seemes like a cool, down to eart guy.

Guys, cool, down to earth guys can also have asshole moments. It's not that big of a deal really, so in my opinion it was a really dick move, but what's my opinion worth anyway? That doesn't make him a bad person that doesn't deserv my money in cds, tickets or merch, it's not like he hit the chick and told her she's an idiot unworthy of talking to the great Flynness.

And no, obviously not a joke, they took it out of YouTube.

I know its really bad

I couldn't find the original one where they actually show the kid holding the banner up asking for them to let him play ... the sound quality was better in that one

In other news, Rob Flynn has redeemed himself tenfold in my eyes thanks to this:

He Is Legend is one my top 5 bands ever, and i've always felt somehow frustrated that just went by unnoticed.
