First note is that this was mixed while I've been sick the last two days, so who knows where the bass is sitting on this one. Sounded decent in a car, at least.

Guitars are 6505.
Kick is a blended/eq'd sample of the Shadows Fall kick.
Snare is a blend of natural and a detuned Slate 15.
Toms are natural (took a shot at it, probably will resample).

Clean vocals need a lot of work (Joey, help?!) as does the chorus in general. Seems a little congested in a lot of frequencies, but like I said, my ears are totally gone right now!

Lemme know what you guys think!

Dude
this is fucking sick!
hahaha
the lick at 1:54 is lolz

to be fair I can't really find fault with the mix, which doesn't help, but this sounds fucking perfect to me.

some parts reminded me of underoath...less autotune/melodyne would do it too but i liked it

Oh, absolutely. The riff after the first break down is practically an Underoath riff. And I agree about the tuned vocals, but that's how they wanted it. One of their biggest influences was Attack Attack. Big surprise. :Smug:

lol yea. i dont feel like the electronics fit at all but thats an artistic choice by the band. just though id voice my 2 cents.

Pretty good sounding mix. Im listening on some really "bassy" speakers but i feel like i dont hear alot of low end. You should get those sub frequencies for the bass and kick in there a bit more. Kna mean? good stuff though. scene kids would eat this up.

could they rip of attack attack and tdwp any more???

on the chorus if the guitars were a bit more scooped the vocals and synths could come through more.

Tell us more about the guitars, EQ settings/micing etc?

Guitar was a cheap Ibanez run straight into a 6505 going through a Peavey cab that had v30s in it. There was a 57 on the cone and a 427 farther toward the edge of the speaker on axis with the blend favoring the 57. EQ is typical HP/LP with a cut around 300 and a small, high Q dip around 2k.
