so does anyone like any hiphop here at all?

tribe called quest
mos def
nwa ...

and SLick the Fucking Ruler Rick ... un fucking toucjable

Yes indeedy:

Immortal Technique is amazing and completely underrated (and angrier than any metal band, ever.)
Shane Skillz is hilarious.

Hell yeah.
Nas' It was Written is a great album.
As well as Notorious BIG's Ready to die (very metal name too)
I also quite like Anti Pop Consortium (more experimental, piano stuff), Atmosphere and Immortal Technique. I like politically conscious shit, even if it's insane.
But foremost, THE BEASTIEZZZ. C'mon, Paul's Boutique is brilliant, and even quite raw and rockish.

By the way I'm new here. I guess not the best thread to present my metalness.

Xraided
Brotha Lynch Hung
Dre Dog/Andre Nikatina
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle

these guys rule because they rap a lot about drugs and killing people. Xraided and Brotha Lynch are especially gory and depraved. Xraided raps about Cisco a lot too. rappers who talk about their cars and their teeth can fuck off.

brotha lynch is pretty hardcore haha, i just remember i had an mp3 of return of da baby killer on my computer, i thought it was funny... @ cannibalism

nickatina is ok once in a while

np: maiden - phantom of the opera

Public Enemy - Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold us Back
NWA - Straight outta Compton
Boogie Down Productions - By Any Means Necessary

Yeah, that's about it. I suppose I stopped listening after those albums back in the 80's.

Do Beastie Boys count? Licensed to Ill is another one, and their new stuff is cool too (like the videos to "Intergalactic" and "Sabotage".)

Love both, but I personally think Wu-Tang gave us not one, but TWO rappers who are superior: Raekwon and Ghostface. They bad mon.

True. Early Wu was unreal, especialy Welcome To The 36 Chambers. I know every single word and nuance to that album. Raekwon's first album, the tape was purple, is amazing. I presonally like Inspektah Deck a lot but never got around to hearing his solo shit. Still, nobody touches Nas or Biggie....especially Nas...his wordplay is amazing.

Canibus is a great lyricist and freestyler too but whoever makes his beats fucking sucks.

It's been a long fucking time since I have listened to hiphop. It has totally gone downhill in the past 10 years, as far as I know. The stuff I see/hear nowadays is absolutely PUTRID. I can;t even find the words to adequately describe how gawdawful it is. I, obviously, havent searched the UG rap scene since I really dont have time for it. Metal and classic rock take up all my time.

Anybody here like Massive Attack - Blue Lines? It's about all I like for hip hop stuff. I don't even really like other Massive Attack stuff, but for something that is straight forward, the bass lines just groove the fuck out and is great for when you are just relaxing or reading.
