True. Early Wu was unreal, especialy Welcome To The 36 Chambers. I know every single word and nuance to that album. Raekwon's first album, the tape was purple, is amazing. I presonally like Inspektah Deck a lot but never got around to hearing his solo shit. Still, nobody touches Nas or Biggie....especially Nas...his wordplay is amazing.

Canibus is a great lyricist and freestyler too but whoever makes his beats fucking sucks.

It's been a long fucking time since I have listened to hiphop. It has totally gone downhill in the past 10 years, as far as I know. The stuff I see/hear nowadays is absolutely PUTRID. I can;t even find the words to adequately describe how gawdawful it is. I, obviously, havent searched the UG rap scene since I really dont have time for it. Metal and classic rock take up all my time.

Biggie, Nas, Slick Rick are downright geniuses compared to this crop of crap.

Mos Def is still pretty crafty and there are other underground guys I am sure ... if anyone know a good site that showcases some great unknows ... post here.

This I disagree with. There are a LOT of creative rhymers out there, you just have to look for them.

strangely enough, Puff Daddy discovered some Atlanta rap group called Boyz N' Da Hood that was largely hyped as the "next NWA."

I wouldn't go that far, but they good. Of course I'm about as critical of my rap listening as I am of my metal listening.
