ANYWAY, live music tends to devolve into the performers singing things with different accents and stretching out words they shouldn't SOLELY because they're BORED (after singing the same song one zillion times). that does not an interesting musical experience make.

the best live musicians know how to jam on the material to make it sound fresh almost every time. WITHOUT it turning into endless wankery. It's rare, but possible.

and then there's also bands that are just entertaining by shear force of personality. Jesus Lizard might be an example, but the live recordings only can go so far.

and then there's MANOWAR live. that's a whole different story.
