Just got it installed without a hitch and no iLok 2 required for people already registered with iLok1(me).

The CPU hit is huge compared to Trigger 1 though. Trigger 1 takes up .5% CPU, and Trigger 2 takes up 2%. This is on my old ass dual core so it probably won't matter to most people.

The view curves section looks interesting, seems to add more control to the Velocity and Dynamics controls.

I had to update to the newest ilok license manager and restart before the plug in showed up for me.

The difference between EX and PLATINUM was just the samples that came with them...

But creeping the functionality seems like a bad move (for me at least...)

mine went from 0.2 with trigger 1
to 0.4 with trigger 2.

this GUI looks kinda ugly i think haha. hopefully its more accurate though! that'd be good

Im actually using it right now...it's great. i loved the "flip all phases" button. I really wish i could turn up or down the tuning for all my instruments at the same time...

I took me a while to find it in pro tools too haha...until i read the manual. It's in a new category now "Steven Slate" instead of "Slate Digital"

But creeping the functionality seems like a bad move (for me at least...)

The only thing that looks weird for me it's when you want to clear a slot...it actually looks like an error pop up

Actually this Gate worth the whole Platinum price alone. It's awesome! Would be weird if they offered it in $99 EX version.

I'm playing with TRIGGER 2 for few hours now. New engine is so much better. Especially on kicks and toms. And new gui and layout is just perfect!

I suck at doing video, but I'll try to make one about Gate and post here. This thing is like magic

Anyone else noticing that there's a delay in processing your parameter changes? I've just been playing with the input and it was really slow to make changes to the graphical representation of the transient.

I'm not overly sold on the new GUI yet, but I've only played with it for 5 minutes, I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Purely a nit picky thing, but I am at a loss as to why this comes under Steven Slate in my Plug-ins list while all the other ones are listed together.

TRIGGER 2 is fully automatable.

As for iLok, I updated not long time ago (when VBC came out). Everything went fine and overall system performance became better, plugins load faster, new ILM is pleasure to use, so I'm happy, though I was really scared before update...

Trigger EX and Trigger platinum were exactly the same plugin
the difference was the samples that came with them...

I bought Trigger EX but i already own SSD 3.5 with ALL the samples (gog´s and Wav´s)...
So even when i bought Trigger EX i was already buying samples i already owned....
So now they are telling me .."hey if you want the gate you have to get even more samples that you already have..."

That is the only quarrel i have with Slate XD
Im very happy with them and their technical support
there isn't a project that i don't use VCC/VTM/Trigger..and im eager to get VBC

wish they'd used the same kind of look as the VBC/VTM etc. new functionality looks good. kind of annoying having to keep both the trigger 1 samples (for old project compatibility) and the new set.

REALLY happy its finally 64 bit and FREE.

EDIT:

this is incredibly ugly and fiddly to search through for samples. also should those "pads" at the bottom trigger the sounds if I'd like to hear them? because right now I can't find a way of hearing each sample individually without soloing a track and pressing play. flip all phases is a great addition, well done on that. I'd love to see a more elegant way of browsing through samples because I really don't like this folder system. Is there no way the plugin can do a search of the source folder and organise them within the plugin?
