Favela of My Dismay
Mikael Bayusik turns away from Emo Black Metal (I say that lovingly) and goes for the throat with crimson eyes of fury. Spinning this now for the first time, and I must say that it's much more aggressive than the mid tempo ballads of despair presented in the trilogy of tattered wrists. Time Bomb (myspace offering) does not give a fair description of the material, (real fawking repetitive track). If you're unfamiliar with this band start with "Final Thoughts", that album is a certifiable masterpiece in the field of black metal. If you have the entire discography up to this point, Homicidal Tendencies has plenty of familiar Tearstained riffs to keep you happy. There's certain moments where he transcends the border in to thrash.

Further input to be offered after repeated listens.

Greatest Lyrics Ever

Everyday I see the spread
of my pals culture in America
Spreading like a slow disease
Embracing youth like a slave

Their ghettos littered with garbage and trash
Spraypainted streetcorners and barred windows
A generation of pimps, hoods and thieves
my pals or wiggers, both breed like rats

Their culture of thievery and crack
Taking and using and leeching the system

Welfare breeders and streetcorner trash
The only race to sell it's own as slaves
Squash every opportunity, expecting endless charity
I had nothing to do with their ancestor's slavery

Their culture of thievery and crack
Taking and using and leeching the system

The spread of my pals culture
Deteriorates from within
Our cities are polluted with
Human beings not worthy of life

The early slavetraders were African
Selling their own race to Europeans
They kill each other one by one
A confused race with no direction

my pals breed relentlessly
Rats of our soceity
(repeat)

I think this was a massive step down. You can totally hear that he's element here. Most of it just sounds like third rate Possessed/Necrovore knockoff riffs. I also don't think that his tone and his vocal approach are very conducive to the music. I really can't see myself playing this album very often at all, to be honest. That said, I love everything he's done before, and eagerly anticipate Nightmare Visions, which will hopefully be put out this year. I should spin Final Thoughts, I haven't listened to Tearstained in a while...

Matt, are you familiar with any of the other bands Mikael has been a part of? I'm considering picking some of these albums up, and would kindly accept a reco.

I don't know... I think you'll know if you'll like him or not right away. I love the Bathory and all the Falsettos!

Brilliant song! :worship:

Lyrics to the jewsendit track. These are words that I can relate to.

Misanthropy - the hatred of humans
Self-loathing to a greater degree
Despise the scum of the earth
Many lower breeds, some my own

Time for genocidal decisions
Extermination of the scum and thieves
Let their deaths be free
Purify humanity through misanthropy

Harsh, cruel-natured
Victim of living
Trustless, shielded
Eyes burn in fire
Stone cold
Path crossed
Disrespect will be pounded
Pounded to dust
Those unworthy of life
Pollute the air I breathe

(chorus)
Genocide and Misanthropy
The answers for those who are wise
Genocide and Misanthropy
Human nature is corruptable lies

Life is worthless
Harsh, cruel-natured
Protected, relentless
Fire burns in my eyes
Cold steel
Path crossed
Why do leeches still walk free?
Feed them to ovens overtly

(repeat chorus)

Those weak pawns, sheep in herds
Brainless weasels
Thieves and addicts
This is the human race
This is the human race

(theme)
Let hatred flow free....... (x4)
(theme)
Let hatred flow free......

(end theme)
(become lost and bang your fucking head

Night Conquers Day is excellent and shouldn't be too hard to find. Into The Sunless Meridian is also very good and more similar to Tearstained (since it was also a solo project), but can be a bit inconsistent at times. I've never had the opportunity to hear Buried Beneath, but it's supposed to be very good. Shadowcaster is some ambient project I believe that I was never interested in enough to actually check out.
