If history serves me right, Spain is known for blowing it in the last minute. Sure, they have a team good enough to win every game they play, but keep in mind they know how to ruin it too.

Fair enough...but this is a new era.....they've equalled the consecutive international win record (with Brazil, France and Australia)...will pass it in the next game.
The final will be Spain vs Italy maybe.....they usually weasel their way into finals despite being slightly above average.

Just out of interest...on paper....how many of the Brazil starting 11 would replace the Spanish team.
Depending on the formation.....Kaka would probably get a run....maybe Alves? Robinho might if he wasn't so lazy.

Dude, how can you count Australia, when most of the teams they play, especially in the qualifying (not anymore, I know they play in the Asia portion now) are PURE SHIT? Don't compare it, this is ludicrous. Winning X number of games against Uzbekistan and Kuwait means nothing.

I think both teams are almost equally balanced. Spain has an outstanding team, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying they're bad. But I don't see as many individual stars, that's it. That's why I say on paper Brazil has a better team. Villa and Torres are 10 out of 10, for sure. Xavi and Alonso are good too. Now, is Iniesta also in this cup? I haven't seen his name mentioned yet. That is a player I really like.

I think Iraq is much worse than USA. I will not be counting Brazil to win the cup yet, but I think we have good chances. Can't wait to see the game on Sunday against Italy!

EDIT: By the way, speaking of Italy... A loss to Egypt 1-0 puts them far away from that supposed final, Taliwakker.... hahahahaha

I was just interested to see who you'd field as a starting 11 if you had to pick from both teams.....some close calls but i'd never put the likes of Fabiano or Pato in ahead of Villa and Torres...and Reina and Casillas would both get a start over Cesar....Elano/G Silva and Kaka vs Iniesta/Alonso and Xavi......only Xavi v Kaka would be close.
Anyway...lets drop it this subject.

USA approached the game a little different to Iraq....Iraq defended for their life.....Robhino wouldn't have got that second goal (for example) against Iraq because they would have had 9 men in their own half rather than 2 on 2 on the break like it was against US.

I actually agree with most what you said now. Iraq really played for their lives. The USA did what the USA is good at when it comes to soccer. Sucking.

An USA x Iraq final would be great. Iraq would probably win. Can you imagine what that would mean for them?

I think it'll be Brazil vs Spain, indeed. Whoever takes it, all we know is that it'll be a GREAT game. Almost like a preview for next year's final!

Australia qualified playing crap football...i'm glad we're in but we need a decent striker....Viduka is the best we have but he's old and always injured. Other than that we have Josh Kennedy and Scott McDonald who are pretty average at international level.
Can't rely on scoring off set pieces in the WC.

You did it, but mostly because of Brazil trashing Italy 3-0. Tailwakker, I think as I said, your final will be between Brazil and Spain. And I am more confident than ever that Brazil has every chance possible of winning this. The last two games showed it, I think.

It's so interesting. Brazil and Spain are favorites, no doubt. But the fact that USA and South Africa have really nothing to lose, puts an extra bit of pressure on Brazil and Spain. Upsets could happen, though. We'll see.
