SOCCER NATION!

ChelseaFC boy since 2008-2009, when my rangers friend suggested I'd either like Chelsea or Arsenal after I got hooked on the game during the World Cup.

The last game between Chelsea x Arsenal must have made you wonder if you made the right decision.

Just busting your balls. That's awesome that you got into the game. I love when people finally "get it". Soccer has been more than a passion for me since I was child. It's truly one of the greatest things about this life.

:( The winters aren't good for us :S

Lol. The reason I got into to it was that there was always a game on in the mornings (we're talking 12am-7am) when I'd be working on homework before class started. There are no commercials for 45 minutes and that was brilliant for background noise. I just happened to pick Chelsea cause they were a suggestion and I began watching more Chelsea games than Arsenal games.

"In a bizarre meta-move, newly reappointed Liverpool gaffer Kenny Dalglish is rumored to make himself an offer to return to the pitch after two decades of retirement. The man named the best British striker of the post-war era by FourFourTwo magazine will link up with Gerrard on the attack while helping Suárez and Carroll find their footing at Anfield, despite being 59-years old."

Is that actually possible???

Torres to Chelsea for 50 mill. I thought it was unnecessary but Carlo doesn't think so and he knows more about football than I do.

Today, one of soccer's truly greatest players to have EVER stepped on a field announced he's retiring from the sport. What a HUGE pleasure it was to have seen RONALDO (the one and only) playing for "my" team, Corinthians, since 2009.

His career speaks for itself: three-time Fifa's Player of the Year, 4 World Cups, 2 World Cup Titles (94 and 2002), and the world-record for most goals scored during a World Cup (15 goals).

Today, the world of football loses that special touch from one of its legends.

Ronaldo will continue working as an ambassador for Corinthians (and for the sport).

Of course! I'm sure you wonder if he had been healthy against France in '98 if they'd have had a chance.

According to wikipedia he wasn't on the national team until '94 so he wasn't on the roster at that game I saw way back when.

Seriously. If that seizure had never happened, I wonder how the game (and the WC) would have ended. It was a shame.

Then again, 94 was Romario's World Cup. 98 was Zidane's. 2002 was Ronaldo's.

So, speaking of the rounds of 16 in the Champions League. Your predictions? Arsenal will face Barca tonight. My bets would be on Barca but my hopes on Arsenal.

My predictions are in bold:

Milan - Tottenham
Valencia - Schalke 04
Roma - Shakhtar
Arsenal - Barcelona (NO WAY TO PREDICT THIS ONE)
Kobenhavn - Chelsea
Lyon - Real Madrid
Marseille - Manchester United
Internazionale - Bayern

Time to resurrect the thread!

USA - BRAZIL in Washington DC (well, Landover MD) tonight!!

Milton are you going to the game? Anyone else going?

Awesome. We have a new thread going also on the lounge, conversations are awesome there. Make sure to check it out!!!!

I am not going to the game. I had tickets for the Brazil x Argentina next weekend in NJ, but I'll be flying out for business the same morning.

One word for tonight: Neymar. :p

Tonight's match should show how the USA squad, in their new kit straight from the movie "Victory" (think Stallone), do against a top international side.

While thumping the hapless Scots was fun, that Scottish squad would be relegated from the Bundesliga after one season - so this will be a decent test for Klinsi and his Mannschaft!
