I'm going to recording my buddy's band soon. It's going to be about 70 minutes, and only 2 songs.

I want to be able to bounce out a 30 minute track from Pro Tools and pop it into a program that allows me break up the 30 minutes into smaller chunks by putting in meta data markers for the beginning of new tracks so it's 100% seamless.

I've tried just bouncing one section at a time, but no matter the program I'm using there's always split second between each track when playing back on a stereo.

Any ideas?

iTunes can burn gapless and is free. Chop your audio in Pro Tools with the scissors, then merge each region separately so they are individual files. Then, put them in a playlist and burn an audio CD (make sure to set your iTunes preferences to put no gaps while burning.)

I'll definitely go down that road if I need to... I just have to believe there's something out there that does exactly what I'm look for... if there isn't then forget about this thread until I get the patent :P

I used to use Wavelab (before I went legit...) and it is excellent software that will do exactly what you need.

Seriously? Damn, I've gotta read the manual I guess... My buddy gave me a legit version of Wave Lab 5. All this time it's been on my computer, and I've just been ignoring it.

*Face palm*

Wavelab here too. Very flexible and, although I never needed to do exactly what you want, I'm sure it can be done with Wavelab.

For audio CDs I always use Sony CD Architect and I'm very happy with it. You can cut files into different CD tracks, make crossovers and even time strech them. You can also use plugins, but only DX ones, no VST, RTAS, AU I beleive. Very useful for including a Waves L2 and/or a dithering plugin. The interface makes working your CDs quick and easy.

But if you already own wavelab just go for it!

wavelab is "the" tool for pro mastering but often is also a pain in the ass to work (at least for me).
the metering and all is very usable! especially for measuring rms.
i personally burn with cd burner xp pro after dithering to 16 bit in cubase 5.
its free.

Took me a few hours reading the manual/help menu and putzing around in the interface, but I figured out how to do exactly what I needed.

My first test was splitting up a 61 minute power hour mix :P
For those who aren't familiar with power hour...

Adding track breaks was easy... adding track breaks at an exact time, over and over again was a pain in the ass.

You have to keep the mouse over the view option... click view, press v then p. Then type the location in minutes, and hit enter. Then press ctrl + insert and choose track break marker, and hit enter.

Doesn't sound to bad, but when you have to repeat the process 60 times it gets old quick.

I'm very happy with this though. Even though my first attempt crashed the software :P

i use nero to burn.. always worked amazing for me and leaves now track splits (via the no pause between tracks feature) plus it burns cds faster than any other program ive used
