Solefald, anyone?

Does anyone know anything about this band, Solefald? What are they like? What is the cd I should look for? Thanks.

The band's last album was so enormously pretentious that it was impossible to listen to. The band are stylistically and musically close to Arcturus, which could be a good thing, but in the hands of Solefald it doesn't work. For a start they can't play as well. You can't help but feel that their songs are just thrown together just for the sake of being weird and a bit whacky.

It isn't genuine eccentricty at work (like The Cardiacs, Mike Patton or Garm), this is forced, laboured and painful to listen to.

I think thats a bit harsh...some of their stuff is good...i'd d/l some mp3s to see if what you like...Some of the stuff of The Linear Scafhold is cool, but its a bit hit and miss...some of it just sounds silly...New Timelessness and Philosophical Revolt are good tracks...

Well, i just checked them out for the first time, and I'm blown away!!! Damn, they have some kick ass tunes!! They sound like the kind of direction Cradle of Filth should have evolved into after Cruelty......

I've heard two songs and I liked them enough to include them in the recommendations column (I'm still waiting for the last one to be uploaded here). When The Moon Is On The Wave is great.

Yeah, "The Linear Scaffold" is a cool CD. Cool songs, cool cover, cool debut. I don't like the rest, though.
