I´m recording this j-rock band and would like some input on this mix. It´s short because it´s for the oppening of an anime. Do you think the bass is too low on the mix?

Thanks. Actually I agree about the keys. The band insisted on them to be loud because in my first mix (with loud guitars) they thought it was "too metal" for the anime. By the way, its nothing really famous, as far as I understood is a guy who makes web manga and now is making animes just for the web.

The band says that the bass is too low but I think they are listening on laptop, headphones or crap speakers without any bass accuracy, because it actually sounds bass heavy on my monitors (Yamaha HS50M). I would like some second opinions about this as I´m afraid of crapping all over the mix based on a "layman opinion". Of course that they have the final word as they´re paying, but anyway, I want them to sound good.

im listening to it again at more volume in the monitors (alesis m1active)

mmm maybe just a little little little too much bass
its a clean bass or distorted?
you should edit the bass at 1:15 to end at the same time than the guitars


just lowering the keyboards and the bass a little bit
it would sound perfect (at least for me )


ps: could i ask what did you use for the keyboards?

it sounds good the bass sounds fine to me , the keys are a little over powering ...cool song

Thanks for the input. The keys are East West samples.
I will insist to the band that the bass shouldn´t be any more loud than it already is. If they want to hear it note by note I will probably just need to change the tone for a more "clicky" one.

pretty good song, and I agree the keys are overwhelming to the point of distraction from everything else
