Hi guys, i just seriously realized that when I hear something in reaper it sounds a lot diferent than if I hear it in WMP or any other pplayer, is this normal? Wmp adds a lot of mids but i cant seem to find a reson for this?

can someone explain and tell how to fix this?

Appreciated...

Do you have the Equalizer on in wmp? It doesn't default to being flat. Reaper keeps levels flat. Maybe that's it?

Yeah, check the EQ in WMP (there's also some sort of a bass boost function, normaliser and some things like that).

No, in WMP I don't use any Eqs or effects at all, it's all off...

as Audiogeek said maybe it's from the converter... but i noticed while changing the device in reaper it changes the sound too... so I have no choice but to get a decent soundcard for this, the problem is that for now i can't have it... maybe in some close future...

I'm assuming that any DAW is going to have way better audio conversion (for obvious recording and playback reasons) than ANY cheap free media player.
