Some Progressive (Death) Metal for you...

Well, first of all, killer vocals. I really like the way the growls are processed - makes them sound extra evil. I think I hear reverse-reverb, pitch-shift down and echo, and it all works really well together... to my ears.

I'm not sure if I'd want just a bit of layering here and there in the clean vocals. Never mind. They sound good.

I love the feel of the song. Opeth simplified. I like the stalls at 1:13 and 2:03.

I think I'd want more power in the snare. Those Metalheads kicks are just perfect.

Thanks for listening, dude. You're right concerning the reverse-reverb and echo, but I didn't pitch-shift the growls.

If I'd listen to the song for the first time, I'd propably say the same things about drums, the feel of the song and that "simplified Opeth" impression.

But today the bassdrum seems a bit too loud in my ears. Didn't recognize that yesterday.

I hear ya about the bassdrum, and I'd understand if you wanted to lower the kicks a bit in the mix to put more emphasis somewhere else to make it a more cohesive overall Opethy sound. The Metalheads bassdrum is really clicky, and I don't think you can EQ much of that out, so that kick WILL be prominent if you use Metalheads.

But to my ears, the loud clicky kick adds a different dimension to that sound, and I'm liking it.
