Compare it the cost of buying monitors plus room treatment for mixing purposes. That is what it could be comparable to (with obvious tradeoffs like being tied to headphones... yet smaller footprint). If one were to take the measurements in a pro room that has Barefoots or O300s, one can then take that acoustic environment and playback response home (well, workably close to it) and use it in place of an untreated and/or acoustically terrible home studio room.
