I could never get in to these guys no matter how hard I try. The thing is though, I never fast forward through their songs when they come on net radio. There must be something beckoning to me from with in the hedges of my subconscious. Have they created anything of merit?!!? :err:

Yes this thread has been done before, but never in 2008!!

Listen to a whole album beginning to end nonstop, you faggot.

Preferably Pretty Little Horsies, Thunder Perfect Mind, or Of Ruine or Some Blazing Starre

The later work is either ambient-ish or very Christianized, and I doubt you want that.

I love all three of those albums, and I could post tracks, but Jerry, Matt is right - just download full albums. This isn't really a "song" band.

Here is one of my favorite C93 songs, from the Tamlin EP. They're right about listening to whole albums, though. I recommend Of Ruine as the easiest place to start out of the above three.

Of Ruine has been my favorite since day 1 that I've heard it, though I'm still incredibly fond of Black Ships as a close second, followed slightly by Pretty Little Horses.

Thunder Perfect Mind never really clicked with me as much as it seems to with everyone else.

Yeah, Of Ruine is probably one of the high points.

Horsies just makes you want to die inside (in a good way) the first time you hear it, but subsequent listens aren't quite as good. Still pretty good all-round though.

I really like Imperium also, but that one's a little obscurist and really old.

yeah, come to think of it, if I had to pick a FIRST OVERALL LISTEN album it would totally be All The Pretty Little Horses.

Just the way it builds up, and then following up with the main theme sung by Nick Cave is just immense.

And I'd say easier to digest at once than a plethora of other c93 works.

I need to pick up the Dogs Blood Rising reissue. Hopefully the Imperium reissue is coming soon. This fucker gets so much of my money...

All the Pretty Little Horsies has probably some of THE BEST and maybe some of the worst moments. This is the problem, it isn't as consistent at all.

TPM used to be my favourite but somehow it lacks some of the depth or conceptual unity that other ones like Of Ruine... or All the Pretty Little Horses has.

Ok, at first I was like "Bwhahahah, no way in hell am I ever gonna like an album called All the Pretty Little Horses" but I got shown, AND HOW!
