Help the newbie
Waaay back in '98 (well, it seems like a long time ;)), I bought Rotting Christ's "A dead poem" (awesome album BTW ;)), and it came with a sampler with the song 'Of Temptation Born', which I have always though was a pretty damn cool song :D So, Orphaned Land have always been on my 'buy it if I see it' list, but, well, New Zealand isn't the best place to live for underground metal, so I have had no luck. Anyway, some questions:

1) What label are the band on? I mean, they were on a Century Media sampler, but it's listed as being from Holy records, and in the last 2 Century Media catalogues that I have got, it's never been listed, so I'm kinda wondering who carries it etc

which brings me to.....

2) how easy are the albums to get? My local store that carries metal (which is pretty good at getting stuff in) doesn't have them listed in their catalogue, so can't get the albums, so I'm kinda wondering what the distribution is like (although keep in mind NZ is crappy ;))

3) Are the band still playing in a similar style? Seeing as the one track I've heard is like 5 years old, I'm kinda wondering what the band's been up to since then.

And yes, I realise that by going to the bands website I could probably find all this out, but I am not currently able to access it, so :p

Hey yourdeadgroom

I'm Matti, I play the guitar at Orphaned Land, nice to meet you bro.

Orphaned Land is currently signed at Centurey Media recs. and it has been signed there for the last 7 years or so, but however there have been no formal releases at this period of time from the simple reason that the band has not been active all these years.

Our 2 former releases, "Sahara" and "El Norra Alila" are "Holy Records" releases and can be found on several sites on the web, including the band's web site www.orphaned-land.co.il that you are unable to access for some reason.

However in the past year the band has returned to intensive work and we are working on our 3rd album which will be titled "Mabool" and will go out at Century Media so I guess this one you will get less trouble purchasing in New Zealand.

All in all we have kept the spirit of our original style, though some changes in the style were made. for example: we have a new keyboard player and the keyboards will have a more significant part in our future, we also have a new drummer and I assume that that will be noticable in the new album too.

Btw, you live in an amazingly beautifull country man, some of my friends were there traveling and I also saw some scapes on the "Lord of the rings" movies and they were breathtaking!

Keep on rocking friend, I recommend you to try and get our former releases before this new one comes out.

Peace

Matti

I was just going to post a question about this - I have the two releases on CD, but I was wondering if you had anything out after El Norra Alila. Anyway, that's great news! Any idea when it will be released?
