I was just listening to Amorphis's "Silent Waters" through the new monitors and remembered just how good that album sounds. According to Wikipedia it was recorded/produced at Sonic Pump Studios in Finland. They've also done albums for Wintersun, Ensiferum etc...

The guy from Thunderstone (guitar player) is in charge I think. And yes there's also Tolkki.

I got Silent Waters when it came out, it has been one of my favorite sounding albums ever since... Weaving the Incantation stands out in particular.

Silent Waters sounds awesome, and so does the new Finntroll! I don't know if they did the new Ensiferum, but that one's great too.

Nino Laurenne from thunderstone and Timo Tolkki (ex stratovarius) are the owners, for 50%.

I've recorded there quite a lot. Nino from Thunderstone is pretty much the only regular over there. It's used quite a lot by other engineers. Cool studio. I'm not 100% sure if that Amorphis was mixed there...
