Don't know if you guys know about this band. This thing is probably the most fucked-up thing I've ever seen...

Basically, Sopor Aeternus is Anna Varney's one man (woman?) project. (S)he claims that her songwriting is hugely influenced by some ghosts that (s)he calls "ensemble of shadows". At first, I thought it was just another band with cheesy and generic music. Wrong. The music is quite original to say the least. It sometimes borders ambiant, electronica, gothic, darkwave etc. In fact, I don't know how to classify this shit...at all.

Here's some picture of Anna-Varney:

Anyway, somebody ever heard of that band?

I couldn't catch up with the post-"Voyagers - The Jugglers of Jusa" material. "Todeswunsch - Sous le Soleil de Saturne" is all you really need from this "guy".

Have you heard "La chambre d'echo"? It has one of the most astonishing packaging ever made in musical history.

Yes, it's good but, like I said, "Todeswunsch..." and, more seldom, "Voyagers..." are all I need. I think (s)he has been overdoing the theatrical approach ever since, and most of his/her new songs strike me as too "clean" if that makes any sense.

You're right about the awesome packagings. The artwork for "Voyagers..." is certainly one of the most noble-looking I have on my shelves.
