I just thought I'd throw this up here for critique, even though the playing isn't super tight and the riff is sort of a throwaway riff. I'm using the Fas modern panned hard left, and Das Metall hard right.

I used Logic for the bass sound, but im not super happy with it. Does anyone think that it sounds cloudy in the lower mids?

Yeah that bass is awful. Scoop out a lot of that lowmid/mid crap.

Ok I tried running the clean bass into a multipressor boosting lows, and running that into a bus which has a shitty sounding distortion ala Fearedse. I think it sounds a bit better. Any other ideas to make this clip the max steel?

Another update! This time I changed quite a bit by brightening up the guitars, sucking out some nasty bass, and adding master verb to make it gel a bit. I can't tell if the guitars are too loud in general. Anyways, once again I'm looking for pro's and con's because I trust this board.

Any thoughts on the updated guitar tone? I've heard that it sounds too rock and not metal enough. Maybe comment on some elements that you feel are lacking or are excessive in the soundscape?
