Sound at the beginning of Isolate: A Darkened Mind

Is it a door opening? Lights turning on? A key being turned? A turtle shifting around? The world may never know.

Also, what is the sound at the end?

I also thought about this a long time ago. I think my conclusion was that WE as listeners are let into his "prison". So the door opens and the lights are switched on. Inside we are allowed to access this agonized soul's memories and mind.

At the end the door shuts, with the listeners outside or inside I don't really know.

It's definately a door, yes. I heard the exact same sample in an episode of Party Down when someone locked a toilet door.
