I have a closet in my basement that I'm currently using as a sound booth. I was wondering about sound proofing and just doing things correctly.
My basement is a stone foundation, with a cement covering, like a white washing. The closet is around 4x4, with the stone wall on one side with a block glass window, and 1" ply wood on the three other sides. Currently, I'm just sticking my cabs in there and micing them up, close miced. I'm not sure how much of a room sound I would be getting with close mics.
I need to insulate the room more, because it is loud outside the room, and it makes tracking difficult. Do I insulate the inside of the room or the outside of the room? Is it better to have reflective surfaces in the booth or not?
Thanks for the help as always!
