Sound effects site

I need some sound effects for some different works and I wonder if there is any free site where I can download these kind of samples and noises.

Basically now I'm trying to find second world war planes sounding, similar to Iron Maiden's intro to Aces High.

You could also check on Youtube for old WWII clips and rip the audio from them.

i guess the site andy posted would have better samples since they're not free while freesound is more like a community

+1 for Sounddogs. Had to use some stuff from there for a school project. Tons of things to choose from.

+1 on freesound, they've got a large database of sounds and i've found many of them to be really good quality
