Didn't think anything would surpass Haken but the new SB is their best since Snow :headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang:

My cd arrived a few days ago (pre-ordered last year) and I was hoping against hope that it would be just as good as Feel Euphoria. Octane & the S/T were just ok. But they knocked it well out the park!

Wow....I didn't realize they had a new release!

i love OCTANE.....among the great prog records of recent times. In fact, I prefer to post-Morse era to the supposed 'classic era'. I'm just not a fan of that "quirkiness" that Morse brought.

Neal Morse may not be that great a vocalist, nor is everything he write great, but without his "quirkiness" Spock's Beard is a pretty run of a mill prog band with very limited talent. I struggle to see how any of the post Neal Morse albums are anywhere close to being "great prog records of recent times".

Just had a quick listen. Good album but I prefer Haken.
Only competition for Haken this year came from Rosswell Six (Terra Incognia- A line in the Sand)imo.
It seems to become a very good year concerning prog releases,
here are some very good 2010 progmetal albums :
Wolfspring - Wolfspring
Echoes - Nature/Existentce
Section A - Sacrifice
Myrath - Desert Call
Ainur - Lay of Leithian
Julien Damotte - trapped
Mattson - Tango
Gronholm - Eyewitness of live
